Job Title:              Training Manager

Reports to:           Director of Training

Hours:                 Open-close Shifts Minimum 14 hours a day for 14 days with one full week off


Summary:            The position is responsible for the daily operations, cleaning and training in the Fourteen Foods Dairy Queen restaurant they are assigned to.  The SEAL Team working hours will be spent on the floor working alongside the team. Their primary role is to implement training and coaching that produce results.  The SEAL Team is committed to training and developing teams.  Candidates for this role need to be familiar with different learning styles and how to adapt and relate the information to the team. Must have strong organizational and planning skills and must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. The SEAL Team must be regarded as a gifted teacher and passionate coach, having great chemistry and able to motivate and encourage, and willing to give constructive guidance.  Time will be mostly be spent working hours on the floor teaching, training, developing, and mentoring employees.

Store Visits:         Consistently travel to Fourteen Foods Dairy Queen locations throughout the United States to evaluate operational effectiveness and training requirements and provide feedback to the team.

  • Assists with the coaching, training and development of Managers and Crew members and the growth and development
  • Cast a vision for training and bring store to the next level.
  • Observation, evaluation and feedback on learning effectiveness
  • Manage the entire operations while delivering exceptional service, training the team, and cleaning the restaurant

Essential Functions:

  • Instruct trainees on effective management techniques.
  • Teach procedures on conflict and motivational techniques to spur better performance and service.
  • Engage trainees to better prepare them for realistic situations on the job.
  • Teach all aspects of operating a Dairy Queen restaurant including how to cook and prepare food, portion sizes, running the register, opening and closing procedures, how to identify theft, making bank deposits, crew training material and BLAST.
  • Instruct trainees on how to clean all equipment and areas in the operation
  • Teach all aspects of Labor Laws for individual states, i.e. breaks, minors, scheduling, etc.
  • Instruct trainees on procedures for detailed cleaning, maintenance, sanitation and safety.

  • Strong management and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Willing to travel 100% of working hours
  • Willing to work long days for two weeks straight
